My objective is to learn and study the ways information reaches people and improve the methods by which it does so. At the same time, I hope to imbue others with the enthusiasm to learn.
As a librarian and a college instructor, I am an "information professional". My interest in education lies firmly in an area I feel passionate about: finding information, teaching others how to find information, studying how information reaches people, and how information is used.
This is my professional portfolio, highlighting writing samples, instructional videos, and other educational materials I have created.
I continue to learn at every opportunity through both formal coursework and research I undertake on my own.
Outside of my professional interests, I am also an avid reader, gamer, and movie watcher - in essence, I live for stories, no matter the medium. Anything that makes the viewer (or reader, or player) question previously held beliefs or philosophy is precious to me.
I greatly enjoy learning and connecting people with information, teaching people how to locate information, and improving information and technology literacy. I am passionate about getting people to understand the value of libraries and information services as well as being interested in issues of censorship and free speech.
As an early adopter of cutting-edge computer technology, I believe that virtual reality will become the next focus not just for the entertainment industry, but will revolutionize how people communicate and collaborate in many professions in the next few years.
